Museum Adventure

Follow my blog with Bloglovin The other day I was in Philly to go to the Museum of Art. I spent hours wandering through the main exhibits and still didn't make it through everything. I ran out of time before I could get over to the second building for the textile show, so I guess I'll just have to go back again!

I am a sucker for views, especially of cities. I love city skylines with their buildings and gray steel and concrete. All three pictures above I took from one of the windows on the museum's second floor. The line waiting to get in. The flag against the city. And the sculptures on the roof.

Because I'm an artist and I design clothes, my eye is always captured by textures and patterns: Swirls on a door, lines in a piece designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and studs on the floor of a fireplace.

Now, here are some of the extra-ordinary objects I found on my excursion.....

a green glass grapes key chain, and some carved wooden kitchen spoons.

A little more odd, the one on the left is of these bunny like objects that rattled when I shook one. It sounded like they were filled with something, but I have no clue what, and the lable was no help! they were by the spoons, but I'm not sure if their food related at all. The red ear is a key chain! the key ring goes through the earlobe, so your keys turn into the earring, nifty!

and last but not least for my museum gift shop extra-ordinary objects....

A fire breathing cardboard dragon, and some neat shapes my mom found in a book on making decorations.
